The Next Chapter: Dave Skow Joins The Woollahra Group

By Rae Strachan

I’m excited to have rejoined The Woollahra Group, now leading the growth of both our sales and property management departments. We have an exceptional team of professionals, and I’m committed to further developing this talent as we build on our existing success. With ambitious plans in place, I’m confident we will drive both sales and property management to even greater heights.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of growing my own property management business from the ground up, reaching nearly 1,000 properties under management in just 8 years. Alongside this, I’ve led and developed a team of over 25 sales associates, mentoring them from industry newcomers to successful independent agents. I’ve also guided agents who consistently sell over $150 million in property per year. Watching these agents thrive has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m excited to bring that same level of support to The Woollahra Group.

While we already hold a strong market share in our core areas, there is still so much untapped potential. By continuing to develop our team and attract new talent, we can solidify our position as market leaders. There’s also a great opportunity to expand into complementary geographical areas, which will further enhance the service we offer to clients and customers across the Eastern Suburbs.

The market has shifted recently, and many agents who have only experienced the strong conditions of the past few years are now facing new challenges. It’s more important than ever for agents to demonstrate their value to clients, communicate clearly, and think outside the box to uncover opportunities. Our team is well-equipped to navigate this evolving landscape, and I’m excited to see how we rise to meet these challenges.

Ray White The Woollahra Group has always been a strong supporter of our local communities, from Potts Point through to Woollahra. Our involvement in local schools, sporting sponsorships, and initiatives like the You Can Sit With Me program speaks to our deep connection with the community. As we continue to grow, our commitment to these communities will only strengthen.

Real estate is more than just a career for me; it’s a way of life. Even outside of work, I’m always keeping an eye on the market, building my own investment property portfolio, and renovating. I’m also lucky enough to own a holiday home in Jervis Bay, where I try to escape whenever I can to relax and enjoy some time on the water.

Interestingly, my original career path was heading toward dentistry. But after a Year 12 work experience stint and landing a job in a local real estate agency during my gap year, I knew real estate was my true calling. I haven’t looked back since.

One fun fact about me is that I used to own a pub! Growing up, my parents owned a pub in rural NSW, and I’ve always had a passion for hospitality. For a few years, I ran a pub in the Snowy Mountains while managing my real estate agency. It was an unforgettable experience, and I absolutely loved it.

I’ve been fortunate to have had incredible mentors throughout my career—leaders who have been generous with their time and knowledge. They’ve played a significant role in shaping the professional I am today, and they’ve fueled my passion for mentoring the next generation of agents. I take great pride in being able to give back in the same way, offering guidance to those starting out, just as my mentors did for me.

The future looks bright for The Woollahra Group, and I’m excited for what’s to come. Together, we’ll continue to push boundaries, serve our communities, and deliver exceptional results for our clients.
